We're partnering with reforestation organizations to plant real trees for every milestone our community reaches.
Our CO₂ calculation is based on the European Environment Agency's average car emission of 0.21 kg CO₂ per kilometer.
For each shared ride, we calculate the emissions that would have been produced if each passenger had driven separately. The difference is the CO₂ saved.
Distance between cities is estimated using standard road distances. For routes not in our database, we use a conservative estimate of 150 km.
